I'm playing against the current #2 seed; a win would make me the #2 seed. I made some moves and I'll go through them as I do the lineup decisions.
QB: Tyler Thigpen, KC vs NO, Trent Edwards, BUF vs CLE, Matt Hasselbeck, SEA vs ARI, J.P. Losman, BUF vs CLE. I waived JaMarcus Russell, QB Oak to add Losman. Edwards has had a couple of rough games and I wanted to have his backup in case he got pulled. Thigpen has had three straight good games and has a good match up, so I'm definitely going to use him. I'm leaning towards Hasselbeck over Edwards because the Cardinals have given up a lot of TD passes. Russell was claimed by my this week opponent; I sure do hope he doesn't do well enough that he would consider starting him against me in the playoffs.
RB: Adrian Peterson, MIN at TB, Marion Barber, DAL at WAS, Kevin Faulk, NE vs NYJ, Chester Taylor, MIN at TB, BenJarvus Green-Ellis, NE vs NYJ, Tatum Bell, DEN at ATL. I don't love either Peterson or Barber's match up, but I'm definitely going with them. I do hope Romo's return helps Barber. Faulk scored 9 and Green-Ellis 0 against the Jets. It seems that perhaps the return of Sammy Morris may leave Green-Ellis with no value. Of course, Morris didn't do much either; the Jets have a tough run defense. I waived Fred Taylor, Jax for Bell. I'm not sure that Bell will do much but I couldn't see myself ever feeling good about playing Taylor.
WR: Lance Moore, NO at KC, Matt Jones, JAC vs TEN, Marvin Harrison, IND vs HOU, Mark Bradley, KC vs NO, Josh Morgan, SF vs STL (OUT), Marques Colston, NO at KC, Deion Branch, SEA vs ARI. I let go of Devin Hester, Chi and Joey Galloway, TB and added Bradley and Morgan; I would have kept Galloway and not Morgan but I had to remove Hasselbeck from IR and could put Morgan there since he is out. Jones is Questionable, so I won't play him. Harrison could benefit from a nice match up and injuries to the other WRs on Indy, but I'm still not seriously considering him. Branch is expected to play but I'm not going to play him until he puts up some numbers. That leave Colston, Moore, and Bradley. Colston is a sure thing and I'm leaning Bradley.
TE: Owen Daniels, HOU at IND, Matt Spaeth, PIT vs SD. I had originally added John Carlson, TE Sea but then switched to Spaeth. I'm nervous about Daniels while Sage Rosenfels is the QB for the Texans. I didn't want to put too many eggs on Hasselbeck in his first game back. Spaeth is the back up to Heath Miller, who is out with an injury. He had a good game last week and San Diego has regularly given up points to TEs.
PK: Joe Nedney, SF vs StL. I was concerned about the match up of Stephen Gostkowski, NE vs NYJ, so I picked up Nedney in his place. Gostkowski scored 13, so I'm almost certain to lose on this one.
TM: Tennessee Titans at Jax. I don't love this match up, but I couldn't find anyone to pick up that I preferred for the week.
