Pre-Week 6

I'm going to be away this weekend and probably won't get a chance to blog, so I'm going to run with the lineup decisions and opponent analysis now.

QB: J.T. O'Sullivan vs Phi, Trent Edwards, Buf on bye, JaMarcus Russell at NO, Matt Hasselbeck vs GB. I'm glad Edwards has his bye now to recover from his concussion last week. Hasselbeck seems likely not to play with some injury. I normally play two QBs, so it would seem I know which two. However, O'Sullivan has what seems like a really tough matchup, so I'm leaning towards leaving him on the bench. My opponent has Jake Delhomme, Car at TB and Peyton Manning, Ind vs Bal. They both have tough matchups, so maybe Russell and my flex RB can be comparable, maybe. He also has Tavaris Jackson, Min, who lost the starting job, and Kerry Collins, Ten on bye.

RB: Marion Barber, Dal at Az, Adrian Peterson, Min vs Det, Tim Hightower, Az vs Dal, Warrick Dunn, TB vs Car, Michael Pittman, Den vs Jax, Chester Taylor, Min vs Det. I'm obviously going with Barber and Peterson and they both have good matchups this week, so maybe I'll get some points out of them this week. I'm leaning towards using Hightower over O'Sullivan as my flex; the game could be very high scoring and Hightower has been doing very well lately. Dunn and Pittman both could be in a tough matchup. My opponent has Maurice Jones-Drew, Jax at Den and Michael Turner, Atl vs Chi. Jones-Drew could have a huge game if they keep running the ball, which TB did not do last week - I hate it when coaches fall in love with themselves and don't want to just call basic running plays that will win them the game. Turner has a tougher matchup but will probably play pretty well. I'm hoping to be somewhere near even through these two positions.

WR: Matt Jones, Jax at Den, Vincent Jackson, SD vs NE, Marvin Harrison, Ind vs Bal, Devin Hester, Atl at Chi, Mike Walker, Jax at Den, Joey Galloway, TB (on IR for me, out this week), Deion Branch, Sea at GB (unlikely to play). Walker seems unlikely to play this week, so I'm leaning Jones and Hester. Jackson could be in for a good week since Chris Chambers seems unlikely to play. Still, I like the matchups for Jones and Hester and that is probably the way I'll go. My opponent has Braylon Edwards, Cle vs NYG and Mushin Muhammad, Car at TB. Given that they both have really tough matchups, I actually think I could be close through these positions.

TE: Owen Daniels, Hou vs Mia. Daniels has been producing steadily, so I'm happy to stick with him. My opponent has Zack Miller, Oak at NO. I don't like that he's using a player for my QB, but I think anyway that I'm going to come out ahead here.

PK: Shaun Suishman, Was vs StL. I picked him for the good matchup this week. My opponent has Nick Folk, Dal at Az. I think that will be a high scoring game, but I'm hoping the Cowboys score all TDs and Barber gets in on the action. Anyway, I still think the game will be close so far.

TM: Tennessee Titans on bye, New York Jets vs Cin. Cincinnati is using their backup QB, so I'm really hopeful ot put up some good points here. My opponent has the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Car. I really like that he's using two offensive players against his D.

I actually think I could squeak this one out, though a lot depends on Russell and Hightower performing near their best.
